The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed that its fighters killed a Military Intelligence (MI) captain and several Pakistan Army Special Services Group (SSG) personnel during coordinated attacks on security installations in Balochistan. The separatist group also claimed to have seized weapons from a police station, taken control of a checkpoint and destroyed an army vehicle during its Operation Almas.
In statements issued on October 22, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, as cited by ANI, said the operation targeted multiple locations in Gwadar district, including the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) camp at Gwadar Zero Point. The group claimed Pakistani forces suffered casualties and material losses during the clashes and were forced to retreat from some positions.
The claims were made by the BLF and could not be independently verified. Pakistani authorities subsequently reported a different outcome, saying 10 attackers were killed during clearance operations in Gwadar and near the Gabd border crossing, with no casualties among security forces, according to Dawn.

BLF Claims FWO Camp, Police Station Seized
According to the BLF, its fighters from the Saddo Operational Battalion and other units launched an attack on the FWO’s main camp at Gwadar Zero Point on October 22. The group claimed its fighters entered the compound and raised the BLF flag.
The organisation also alleged that its fighters took control of the Muzhani police station and seized official weapons and other military equipment. It claimed a police official was killed during the confrontation.
In a separate incident in the Gubd area, the BLF claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani security forces convoy. According to the group, an army vehicle was destroyed, and several personnel were killed or injured. It also claimed that its fighters took control of the police checkpoint at Gubd Cross.
The BLF initially said Operation Almas was continuing on several fronts and promised to release a detailed assessment of casualties and damage after its conclusion.
BLF Names Fighter In Alleged Vehicle-Borne Attack
In a subsequent statement, the BLF said a fighter identified as Mujahid Mehr, alias Sagar Zamurani, carried out a vehicle-borne suicide attack against a fortified military camp.
According to the group, the explosives-laden vehicle breached the camp’s defences, allowing other fighters to enter the compound. The BLF paid tribute to Mehr and described the attack as part of its wider operation against Pakistani security installations. The account has not been independently verified.
The organisation also said the operation involved its Saddo Operational Battalion, named after senior BLF commander Mamo Saddu Marri, also known as Shahadat Marri.
BLF Claims Pakistani Reinforcements, Drones Targeted
In further statements, the BLF claimed its fighters maintained control of the FWO camp for more than 16 hours before later reporting that the operation had concluded. The group alleged that Pakistani military reinforcements arriving in armoured vehicles came under repeated attacks, resulting in casualties and forcing troops to retreat.
Major Gwahram Baloch also claimed Pakistani forces used quadcopter drones to target BLF positions, but alleged that the group’s fighters shot down additional drones.
The BLF said it would release a detailed account of the operation and its final assessment of casualties and damage. These battlefield claims remain unverified.
Pakistan Reports 10 Attackers Killed
Pakistan’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said security forces conducted clearance operations in Gwadar city and around the Gabd border crossing after the attacks on October 22.
According to Dawn, the ISPR said 10 attackers, including a woman, were killed in separate engagements. It also reported that one civilian was killed and several vehicles were damaged, while maintaining that security forces suffered no casualties.
The official account differs sharply from the BLF’s claims of military losses and control over security installations. The reported casualties, extent of damage and circumstances surrounding the clashes could not be independently established.
