India-Oman Ties And Strategic Partnership
The visit holds special significance as India and Oman share a comprehensive strategic partnership built on centuries-old historical connections, strong trade links and deep people-to-people ties. The year also marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Oman.
The visit follows Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s State visit to India in December 2023, which had further strengthened bilateral cooperation across sectors such as defence, energy, trade and maritime security.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said the visit would provide an opportunity for both sides to comprehensively review the bilateral partnership and explore avenues for expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. These include trade and investment, renewable energy, defence collaboration, technology and cultural exchanges.
