Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan's Minister Hanif Abbasi released a provocative video, warning of nuclear retaliation against India. Abbasi asserted that Pakistan’s missiles are "not for decoration," and emphasised that the country's nuclear arsenal, including Ghori, Shaheen, and Ghaznavi missiles along with 130 nuclear warheads, has been maintained "only for India." His fiery remarks came after India suspended the Indus Water Treaty and revoked visas for Pakistani nationals in response to the terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam region.
Water Dispute Escalates Tensions
Abbasi’s warning escalated further when he addressed India's move to suspend Pakistan's water supply as per the Indus Waters Treaty. He stated that any attempt by India to block Pakistan’s water would trigger a "full-scale war." Abbasi announced that Pakistan Railways' entire logistics system, including soldier desks at railway stations, had been placed at the disposal of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He stressed that tanks, heavy weaponry, and artillery could now be transported swiftly through the railway network, showcasing Islamabad’s preparations for potential conflict.

Ballistic Missiles On Standby
Highlighting Pakistan’s military preparedness, Abbasi issued a direct warning to India against any territorial aggression. "Our ballistic missiles are pointed towards India and are ready," he said, urging New Delhi not to underestimate Pakistan’s response capabilities. His statement reflects Islamabad's broader strategy to reinforce its defences across land, air, and water borders in light of growing hostilities after the Pahalgam incident.
India Responds With Strong Measures
In response to the terror attack, India has taken decisive diplomatic and economic measures. Apart from suspending the Indus Water Treaty, India expelled Pakistani military attachés, downgraded diplomatic ties, and immediately shut down the Attari bord. India accuses Pakistan of supporting cross-border terrorism, an allegation Islamabad has rejected. The Pahalgam attack, where gunmen opened fire at Baisaran meadow, killing 26 people, has been described as the deadliest terror strike in India since the 2019 Pulwama attack.
