Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif grabbed online attention after a "typo" in his social media post went viral. The post, meant to criticise Israel’s reported attack on Iran, reportedly began with “I condom” instead of “I condemn.” The mistake was quickly corrected, as claimed by scores of social media users, but screenshots had already spread, causing a wave of laughter online.

The post now states: “I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today’s unprovoked attack on Iran by Israel. I offer my deepest sympathies to the Iranian people for the lives lost. This serious and reckless act is very concerning and could further destabilize an already tense region. We call on the international community and the United Nations to act urgently to prevent further escalation that could threaten regional and global peace.” Even after social media users claimed it was fixed, the internet continues to buzz with the viral screenshot. X user Surendra Poonia joked, “Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif is offering a ‘unique kind’ of support to Iran,” capturing the playful mood online.

Meme fest on social media platforms

The viral screenshot turned a serious statement into a source of memes and jokes, with X users widely sharing the viral post.

A user named Surendra Poonia on ‘X’ wrote, “Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif is giving ‘different kind’ of support & protection to Iran.”  Another user named Savita wrote, “A slip-up that’s too funny to ignore. Serious message, though—hoping for peace and stability.”  "Haha, looks like Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif’s gone from dreaming of beating India in war to losing the spelling battle—'I Condom' instead of 'I Condemn'! Maybe he thinks a typo can win where tanks failed!, wrote another user.

Did Shehbaz Sharif say ‘I Condom’? Here's truth

It remains unknown and unverified if the error was quickly corrected or never existed, however, in response to the viral post, social media has burst into laughter, and mockery of the tweet made on ‘X’. However, when a user asked Grok AI, whether Sharif had used a "condom" instead of condemnation? It rejected the social media users' claims.

"The claim that Shehbaz Sharif wrote "condom" instead of "condemn" in his statement on Israel's attack on Iran appears false. Official sources, including government websites and news outlets, consistently report Sharif using "condemn" correctly. No credible evidence supports the alleged typo, and the screenshot shared on X is likely fabricated for humour or misinformation, a common tactic on social media. Given Pakistan's ban on X, an official post with such an error is improbable. Always verify claims with primary sources, as social media can amplify false narratives," read the message posted by Grok AI.
