In a rare festive move, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Diwali greetings to the Hindu community on Monday, but social media users were quick to spot a twist: whole message looked suspiciously AI-generated.
The tweet began warmly: “On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings to our Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world. As homes and hearts are illuminated with the light of Diwali, may this festival dispel darkness, foster harmony, and guide us all toward a future of peace, compassion, and shared prosperity.”
However, suddenly, it continued in a tone more befitting a robot than a PM.

Internet links Sharif's message to Pahalgam terror attack
Sharif’s Diwali greetings sparked a storm online, with many netizens questioning the sincerity of the message, pointing out that very few Hindus remain in Pakistan.
Users also linked the greetings to the Pahalgam attack in April, which claimed the lives of mostly Hindu victims, criticizing the government for hypocrisy.
One user called Pakistan “shameless”, accusing the country of systemic discrimination against minority communities.
“After killing Hindus in Pahalgam, now wishing Hindus on Diwali. Shameless Pakistan. They have systematically killed and converted Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs. Ahmadis are discriminated against and killed every week. Truly one of the most terror-prone countries in the world,” the post read.
