Two teenage step-sisters in Pakistan’s Gujranwala have been arrested for allegedly setting their father on fire in a desperate act of revenge for sexual abuse. The incident, which took place on January 1st, resulted in the father’s death from severe burn injuries. According to police, the girls confessed to the crime, with police official Rizwan Tariq revealing that the sisters had planned the act as a form of justice. "The girls said that they decided amongst themselves to find a 'permanent solution'," Tariq told AFP.

Police reported that the father’s abusive behaviour had been ongoing, making the sisters feel trapped and unable to seek justice through conventional means. As the abuse continued, the girls took matters into their own hands, resulting in a tragic outcome.

The two step-sisters said that their father had attempted to rape the younger daughter twice and had been raping the oldest girl for a year. "We both planned to kill our father for sexually assaulting us," the sisters allegedly informed authorities.

They confessed to removing 'petrol off his [bike] and sprinkling it on him before lighting him on fire'. It is reported that they bound their father with ropes. After being transported to the hospital with serious burns, their father passed away from his injuries.

Girls Accuse Man's Wives of Assisting in Father’s Revenge Killing

After calling the man's sister, one of the girls' siblings accused the man's two wives of assisting the teens in getting their father drunk and setting him on fire. The sister then phoned emergency services. The man has not been named to protect the identities of the girls, who are reportedly 15 and 12, from different mothers.

Both mothers were aware of the abuse but were unaware of the revenge plan. One wife has been arrested, while the second is under questioning. Authorities plan to present them in court once the investigation is complete. The case is currently under investigation, and authorities are working to gather further evidence.
