Pakistan strongly condemned India's precision strikes under Operation Sindoor, with the country’s military accusing India of escalating tensions in the region. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated that Indian missiles had struck areas in Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad, calling it a “cowardly attack” carried out under the guise of counter-terror operations.

The statement, published by Dawn, reflects growing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror incident.

Pakistan To Respond To Provocation

In a post on X, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack on five locations within Pakistan, calling it a "cowardly" move by the "cunning enemy." He wrote," The cunning enemy has carried out a cowardly attack on five locations in Pakistan. Pakistan fully reserves the right to respond forcefully to this warlike act imposed by India, and a robust response is being given. The entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces, and the morale and spirit of the entire Pakistani nation are high. The Pakistani nation and the Pakistan Armed Forces know well how to deal with the enemy. We will never allow the enemy to succeed in its nefarious objectives."

ARY News, quoting Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, reports that India launched missiles from its airspace, targeting areas in Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bahawalpur.

The spokesperson stated that Pakistan’s Air Force acted swiftly in response to the missile strikes, activating its defence systems to prevent any Indian aircraft from breaching Pakistani airspace.

Citing Chaudhry, Dawn newspaper reports:
“Let me say this unequivocally: Pakistan will respond to this provocation at a time and place of its own choosing. This heinous act will not go unanswered.”

In a strong response to the recent deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, the Indian Armed Forces late Wednesday night launched 'Operation Sindoor', executing precision strikes on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

In an official statement, India’s Ministry of Defence confirmed the launch of Operation Sindoor, stating that the strikes were carried out against terrorist infrastructure used to plan and execute attacks against India.

The Ministry noted that nine locations were targeted in total. It stressed that the operation was carefully calibrated and aimed solely at terror camps, avoiding any Pakistani military installations. “Our actions have been deliberate, restrained, and non-escalatory,” the statement read. “India has shown significant restraint in both target selection and execution methods.”

A comprehensive briefing on Operation Sindoor is expected later today.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Justice is served. Jai Hind!” In a previous post, the Army wrote in Sanskrit: “प्रहाराय सन्निहिताः, जयाय प्रशिक्षिताः” — meaning “Ready to strike, trained to win.”
