Joe Biden Diagnosed With Advanced Prostate Cancer
According to a statement issued by Biden’s office, the diagnosis was made after the discovery of a prostate nodule during a routine check-up. Biden had previously reported worsening urinary symptoms. The tests further indicated that the cancer is aggressive, with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) and has metastasised to the bone. “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer… While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for effective management,” the official statement read. Biden is now seeking advice from his family and medical professionals regarding the best course of treatment.

Ex-President Barack Obama also posted on X to reaffirm his support to his long-time political associate and friend. He commended Biden's work towards cancer research and had faith in his resilience. “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama wrote. US President Donald Trump also wished Biden his best. “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Biden’s diagnosis has prompted an outpouring of support from global leaders and the international community. The 46th President of the United States, who fought to advance cancer research with the Cancer Moonshot program, now grapples with the disease.
