Putin India Visit: Russian President Vladimir Putin has landed in Delhi, where PM Modi received him at Palam Airport, marking the beginning of a series of diplomatic engagements. The two-day state visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marks a major diplomatic moment for India, balancing its strategic partnership with Moscow amid global scrutiny.

Key discussions are expected on defence, including fast-tracking S-400 missile deliveries and exploring joint R&D, as well as energy, focusing on long-term oil deals, Indian investments in Russian energy projects, and expanded nuclear cooperation.

India and Russia have signed a protocol to share pre-arrival information on goods and vehicles, aiming to streamline trade and boost transparency. The agreement was signed by CBIC chief Vivek Chaturvedi and Russia’s Tatiana Merkushova during the 23rd India–Russia Summit.

PM Modi is currently hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin for dinner at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
