Board of Peace Meet: The first meeting of the board of peace, hosted by US President Donald Trump in Washington, was marked by many things, primarily yet another embarrassing moment for Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif. A key global event, which Pakistan could have used to make its international presence felt, turned into another embarrassing moment for the country as its leader was reportedly marginalised and sidelined.

The situation began turning embarrassing for Pakistan from a typographical mistake in an X post, elaborating on the PM Sharif’s schedule. The gaffe began even before Sharif attended the board of peace meeting, where India participated as observer.

An X post by the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the official statement regarding Shehbaz Sharif’s Washington schedule at the invitation of US President Donald Trump to attend the inaugural session of the Board of Peace on February 19, 2026. However, the X post was riddled with typo errors, where the headline of the official release read, ‘Prime Minister’s Visit to the Unites States of Americas’.

Social media users quickly started criticising the Pakistan government, pointing out the spelling errors in a screenshot of the post that went viral within no time. One social media user highlighted the word “Unites” along with a laughing emoji, adding to the online ridicule.

An X account with a Pakistani user name said, “Lanat ha tm pr. Another user, named Sourav, said, “Thoda zyada curtain raise ho gaya bro. Unites”.

Shehbaz’s Trump Buttering Trump Left Him Embarrassed

On the other hand, Shehbaz Sharif appeared solely focused on Trump instead of the event he was invited to. Shehbaz himself caused awkwardness by lavishing praise on Trump, calling him a “man of peace” and a “saviour of South Asia” at the Board of Peace meeting.

“Your timely and very effective intervention to achieve a ceasefire between India and Pakistan potentially averted the loss of tens of millions of people,” Sharif said. “You have truly proved to be a man of peace. And let me say you are truly a saviour of South Asia.”

Further appreciating Trump’s ‘dynamic leadership’, Pak PM described Trump’s diplomacy as ‘bold’ and said it had brought calm to ‘many international serious hotspots.’

Sharif Sidelined During Group Photo

If typo errors and Sharif’s desperate appreciation of Trump had not brought enough embarrassment for Pakistan, the group photo session became the most embarrassing for him as he was sidelined during the photo session. While Trump stood front and centre alongside US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, leaders from Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Qatar were positioned directly behind the US president. Sharif, by contrast, was pushed to the margins.

Sharif's 'Guard-Style Salute' Sparks Storm On Internet

In a video clip that has gone viral on social media, Sharif appears to offer a clumsy salute to Trump in a moment that has sparked sharp reactions and ridicule online. The social media users called this the most embarrassing moment for Shehbas Sharif.
