Mamallapuram | Jagran News Desk: Chinese President Xi Jinping, who arrived in India for a two-day visit on Friday, expressed his satisfaction about his second informal summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called it a ‘memorable experience’, adding that the meeting will have a ‘far reaching impact for Chinese people’.

He also said that the dance of the dragon and the elephant is the only "correct choice" for both sides.

The two leaders had a five-and-half hour of one-on-one talks at Chennai's Mamallapuram since yesterday.

“Yesterday Prime Minister as you said, you and I had engaged in candid conversations like friends, heart-to-heart discussions on bilateral relations,” said Jinping in his opening remarks for the delegation-level meeting.

“We are really overwhelmed by your hospitality. Me and my colleagues have felt that very strongly. This will be a memorable experience for me and for us,” the Chinese President added.

Jinping further said that the informal summits are a ‘good idea’ and declared that the two sides will continue to have such summits.

“Informal summit initiative (PM Modi's idea) is a good idea. We have a made a wise decision on informal summits,” he said.

“Looking forward to further discussions in an in-depth manner with you and make further plans for bilateral relations,” he added.

Jinping, who arrived on Friday, held talks with PM Modi on a variety of issues and the two leaders vowed to jointly combat terrorism and radicalisation, and expand bilateral trade and investment.

Jinping also invited PM Modi to China for the next informal meet, said Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, adding that the Indian Prime Minister accepted his offer. He said that the dates will be decided later.

This was the second informal summit between PM Modi and President Xi. The two leaders had earlier met in Wuhan for their first informal meet. After his meeting PM Modi, Jinping left for Nepal.
