The conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran has entered its second month and appears to be escalating further after Iran claimed it had downed two US warplanes. Iranian officials on Friday night said that one F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down inside Iran, while another aircraft, believed to be an A-10 Warthog, crashed in the Gulf region. Two US crew members were rescued, but at least one pilot remains missing.

Video Shows US Rescue Mission For Missing Pilot 

Reports added that two Black Hawk helicopters involved in the rescue mission also came under small arms fire while operating in the area. However, they were not downed. Meanwhile, Iranian state media released videos claiming to show US rescue efforts inside Iranian territory after fighter jets were hit. The footage accessed by Iran International, shows UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters refuelling mid-air before entering Iranian airspace and flying at low altitude over southern Iran.

Iran Parliament Speaker Mocks US

However, while several such videos have surfaced online, their authenticity has not been independently verified. Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on Saturday mocked the US over its efforts to locate the missing crew member. In a post on X, he wrote, “After defeating Iran 37 times in a row, this brilliant no-strategy war they started has now been downgraded from “regime change” to “Hey! Can anyone find our pilots? Please? Wow. What incredible progress. Absolute geniuses.”

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that President Donald Trump “has been briefed” about the matter. When approached by NBC News to comment on the downing of US fighter planes, Trump said that the F-15 loss would not affect talks with Iran. He said, "No, not at all. No, it's war.”
