US President-elect Donald Trump arrived in Washington on Sunday to attend a pre-inauguration celebration and fireworks display ahead of his inauguration. He was accompanied by his wife Melania Trump, daughter Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner.
Trump flew to Washington aboard a plane provided by outgoing President Joe Biden. Upon landing at Dulles Airport in suburban Virginia, he travelled to his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, on the outskirts of the city. Approximately 500 guests gathered to welcome Trump and the would-be first lady, with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky.

Notably, Trump moved his inauguration events from the west front of the US Capitol building indoors to the Capitol Rotunda, and the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capital One Arena after a warning by the weather department.
The theme of Trump's event will focus on "unity, strength and fairness." This marks the first time since Ronald Reagan's second inauguration in January 1985 that the main event will be moved indoors. Due to the limited seating capacity of the Capital One Arena, which holds only 20,000 people, over 220,000 ticketed guests will be unable to attend the inauguration.
Many expressed disappointment, stating that they had travelled long distances to attend the event, only to be informed that they would not be able to witness the highly anticipated inauguration.
Notably, Trump is expected to sign several key executive orders and directives, including a crackdown on migrants, soon after returning to the White House.
