At least people were injured after a clash broke out during a kabaddi tournament at Alvaston in UK's Derbyshire on Sunday, reported the local media. Reportedly, the incident took place at the Derby Kabaddi grounds at nearly 4 pm. A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

The small clip shows gathering running away and screaming, meanwhile, gunshots can also be heard. An eyewitness recounted a guy being shot and then hacked up with a sword, and said, "One man was shot and then when on the floor chopped up with a sword," as quoted by the Mirror.

In an official statement, Derbyshire Police said, "We were called to a large scale disturbance in Elvaston Lane, Alvaston at 15.51 on Sunday 20 August. Three people have been injured, one seriously."

"They have all been taken to hospital. There is a large police presence in the area and officers are expected to remain at the scene for some time," the officials informed.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, is asked to contact us quoting the reference 739 of 20 August," they said.

According to eyewitnesses, the violence was instigated by two warring gangs, reported The Sun. One of the eye-witnesses said that a man was shot at before being brutally stabbed with a sword. According to The Sun, people were spotted frantically rushing to flee the event venue in their cars while informing about the incident to police. Over 20 police cars rushed to the site, said the witnesses.
