London's Gatwick Airport, the second busiest in Britain, evacuated a large part of a terminal as a precaution due to a security incident, the airport said on X on Friday. The airport evacuated part of its South Terminal for an investigation into a security incident and is preventing passengers from entering the building.

British police deployed an explosive ordnance disposal team to Gatwick Airport after a suspected prohibited item was found in luggage, according to a local police statement.
