The United States has sounded an alert across its key cities after conducting air strikes at three nuclear sites in Iran amid escalating conflict in the Middle East.

“We’re tracking the situation unfolding in Iran. Out of an abundance of caution, we're deploying additional resources to religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites across NYC and coordinating with our federal partners. We’ll continue to monitor for any potential impact to NYC,” the New York Police Department posted on X.

The Metropolitan Police Department has also issued a statement on the developments in the backdrop of America’s strikes in Iran.

“The Metropolitan Police Department is closely monitoring the events in Iran. We are actively coordinating with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to share information and monitor intelligence in order to help safeguard residents, businesses, and visitors in the District of Columbia. At this time, there are no known threats to the District. However, MPD has maintained an increased presence at religious institutions across the city. We continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and help keep our community safe,” the statement read.

Donald Trump on Sunday said the US carried out a precise military operation in Iran, striking their three nuclear sites– including Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan- in a major escalation of tensions in the Middle East. Calling Iran the world’s number one state sponsor of terror, Trump said the main objective behind the strikes was to stop the nuclear threat posed by Tehran.
