The D-Day has arrived. US President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as president of the United States on Monday-- ushering in his second term in office and capping one of the most astounding political comebacks in American history. Inauguration Day is, by tradition, largely dedicated to pomp and circumstance. One president leaves the White House, and another moves in. But Trump has also pledged to sign a flurry of executive orders on subjects ranging from border security to oil and gas production on his first day in office.
Trump will take the oath of office, administered by Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts, at 12 pm EST (1700 GMT). In India, the timing will be around 10:30 pm.
Venue of the Inauguration
It was originally due to take place in front of the US Capitol but will now take place inside the congressional complex because of the bitter cold. Following the oath, the 47th President Trump will then deliver his inaugural address where he would present a roadmap for the Americans. That would mark a departure from his first Inauguration Day speech in 2017, which detailed a broken country he described as “American Carnage.”
What is the duration of the inauguration ceremony?
The duration of the inauguration ceremony is not fixed but typically lasts around an hour. When Trump took the oath of office in 2017 and when Joe Biden was inaugurated in 2021, the proceedings each lasted approximately one hour. However, this year, it is expected that Trump may take a little longer amid the fact that he received unprecedented support from American billionaires. He may attempt to present a vote of thanks to them. However, "unpredicted" Trump may also skip.

Additionally, the White House will stream the ceremony on its official website, giving viewers around the globe the opportunity to watch the event.
