US Attacks Iranian Boats Near Hormuz

According to the Reuters report, citing US Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation was carried out in "self-defense" and aimed at protecting American troops from threats posed by Iranian forces during the ongoing ceasefire. CENTCOM spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins said the strikes were intended “to protect our troops from threats posed by Iranian forces” and stressed that US forces were continuing to act with restraint.

No Response From Iran Yet

The attacks reportedly focused on an area near Bandar Abbas, a strategically important southern port city that hosts an Iranian naval base along the Strait of Hormuz. According to BBC report, Iranian state media earlier reported explosions near Bandar Abbas, with local authorities investigating the incident. However, Tehran has not officially responded to the latest US strikes.

Trump Says 'Uranium' Would Be Brought Back

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump asserted that the highly enriched Uranium would be handed over to Washington and subsequently destroyed. In a post on Truth Social, he wrote,"The Enriched Uranium (Nuclear Dust!) will either be immediately turned over to the United States to be brought home and destroyed or, preferably, in conjunction and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, destroyed in place or, at another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission, or its equivalent, being witness to this process and event. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT.”

On Monday, Trump had expressed optimism over the ongoing talks, saying: “Negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are proceeding nicely! It will only be a Great Deal for all or, no Deal at all.”
