US-Iran Tensions: Amid escalating tensions between the United States and Israel, several countries, including India, have issued advisories. These notices have been issued to embassy personnel, their dependents and family members, as well as their citizens.

US Military Buildup In Middle East

The US administration led by President Donald Trump has strengthened its military buildup in the Middle East even as both Washington and Tehran look to achieve diplomacy, India Today reported. Oman, which is mediating the negotiations, said the two sides have made progress. However, no deal has yet been reached to prevent a potential US strike on Tehran.

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi is scheduled to meet US Vice President JD Vance and other officials in Washington on Friday. The United States and Iran are expected to resume talks next week in Vienna.

Which Countries Have Issued Advisories?

Several countries have issued advisories for family members of embassy officials as well as citizens. Here are the countries that have issued advisories:

1. The UK: Amid escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, the United Kingdom has temporarily withdrawn its staff from Iran, citing security risks in the Middle East. Officials said that its capacity to assist British nationals is extremely limited, as the embassy is operating remotely and currently has no in-person consular services available.

2. The US: The US Embassy in Jerusalem said that it will permit non-essential government officials and their family members to leave Israel due to security concerns.

3. China: Beijing has issued an advisory for Iran, urging citizens to avoid travel to the country and advising those present to leave as soon as possible.

4. Germany: The German Embassy warned that Iran's security situation remains extremely volatile, with the risk of military clashes erupting at any time. It also warned that airspace closures and flight restrictions could be imposed at any time.

5. India: The Indian Embassy in Tehran has advised its citizens to leave the West Asian nation by 'any available means of transport'.

6. Poland: Poland has also asked its citizens to leave Iran "immediately, and under no circumstances travel to this country".

7. Sweden: Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard has urged all Swedish nationals to leave Iran immediately and not travel there.

8. Serbia: The Serbian Foreign Ministry has advised its citizens not to travel to Iran in the coming days and urged those present in the country to leave as soon as possible due to the escalating tensions.

9. South Korea: The South Korean Embassy has warned its citizens of "rapidly escalating regional tensions" amid the US-Iran tension. It has urged its citizens to leave Iran immediately and cancel or postpone any travel plans to the country.
