A video allegedly showing a couple engaging in an obscene act on a London city bus has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and renewed debate over public decency on public transport. The clip, widely circulated on X, is believed to have been filmed near Pizza Hut on Uxbridge Road in Hayes, west London. In the footage, a young couple dressed in winter clothing can be seen occupying the last seat of a red double-decker bus, with their faces partially concealed by caps and scarves.

Several social media users claimed the incident occurred in Hayes Town, though authorities have not officially confirmed the exact location or date of the recording. The video, reportedly sourced from an Instagram reel before spreading across platforms, shows other passengers present on the bus at the time.

The incident triggered strong reactions online, with many users condemning the behaviour as inappropriate, disrespectful and distressing for fellow commuters, particularly children and elderly passengers who may have been on board.

Obscene Act Filmed On Red Double-Decker Bus

“That’s not love, it’s exhibitionism and harassment in a shared public space,” one user wrote, echoing a sentiment widely shared across social media. Others questioned why no immediate intervention appeared to take place and urged transport authorities to take stricter action against such conduct.

This is not the first time similar footage has gone viral in the UK. In December 2017, a comparable incident reportedly took place on public transport in Shoreditch, east London, where passengers filmed a couple engaging in an intimate act, according to a report by The Sun. More recently, in June 2025, two tourists were caught performing an obscene act near a church at a popular British tourist destination, prompting police attention after a video surfaced online.

Transport officials have repeatedly warned that public indecency on buses and trains can lead to criminal charges, including fines or arrest. The latest incident has once again highlighted concerns over the misuse of public spaces and the growing trend of recording and sharing such acts on social media.
