Earthquake In Myanmar: Two powerful earthquakes, measuring 7.7 and 6.4 in magnitude, hit Myanmar on Friday, triggering strong tremors that were felt in neighbouring Thailand. A video of the earthquake captured the impact, showing water spilling from rooftop pools of a high-rise building in Bangkok, Thailand due to the intense shaking. Videos on social media also showed chaos on streets as people ran for their lives. Some metro and light rail services were suspended in Bangkok.

The video of a building showed how water from a swimming pool came oozing down a highrise in Bangkok as buildings swayed due to the effect of the earthquake in Myanmar.

The powerful earthquake in Myanmar buckled roads in the capital Naypyidaw and with tremors felt in China and Thailand, AFP reported.The tremor’s epicentre was located 16 kilometres (10 miles) northwest of the city of Sagaing at a depth of 10 kilometres around 12:50 pm local time (0620 GMT), the USGS said.

Skyscraper Under Construction Collapses As Strong Tremors Hit Bangkok

A dramatic video circulated on social media showed the multi-story building with a crane on top collapsing into a cloud of dust, while onlookers screamed and ran. The US Geological Survey and Germany's GFZ center for geosciences said the earthquake was a shallow 10 kilometers (6.2 miles), with an epicenter in Myanmar, according to preliminary reports. 

Indian Embassy In Thailand Issues Statement

The Indian Embassy in Thailand issued a statement on Friday, assuring that it is closely monitoring the situation after powerful earthquake tremors were recorded in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand. According to the embassy, no untoward incidents involving Indian citizens have been reported so far. The embassy is in close coordination with Thai authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in Thailand. Crane-topped building collapsed in a cloud of dust.
