US-Iran War Prediction: Beijing-based educator and YouTuber Jiang Xueqin has become an overnight global sensation after his seemingly "unreal" geopolitical predictions turned out to be true. Dubbed "China's Nostradamus" by social media users, Jiang is trending globally for a May 2024 lecture in which he predicted both Donald Trump's return to the White House and a catastrophic military confrontation with Iran.

The 'Iran Trap' Prediction

Recorded on May 29, 2024, for his YouTube series "Predictive History", Jiang presented a scenario he called "Operation Iranian Freedom". He argued that a second Trump administration would be pushed towards a war with Iran due to a convergence of interests between the Israel lobby, Saudi Arabian strategic goals, and a US desire to maintain global financial hegemony.

At the time the video was recorded, Joe Biden was still the president and the idea of a full-scale invasion seemed predictive. However, Jiang's warnings about the justification for war, particularly citing Iran's nuclear program and threats to regional allies, mirrored the rhetoric used by the White House just days ago.

The Sicilian Parallel

Jiang, a Yale graduate and renowned historian, used the "Sicilian Expedition" of 415 BCE as a historical warning. He compared a potential US invasion of Iran to Athens' disastrous attempt to conquer Sicily during the Peloponnesian War, a move that eventually led to the fallout of Athenian empire.

He cautioned that while initial US airstrikes might look "impressive on television", a ground invasion would be a "catastrophic mistake". As per Jiang's game-theory analysis, Iran's rocky terrain and urban density make it a "fortress". He speculated that US would need 3 to 4 million troops to effectively occupy the country, a number he calls "politically and militarily impossible".

Jiang warned that American troops deployed into Iranian interior would become "hostages, not soldiers", vulnerable to disrupted supply lines and a resilient, unified population. He also estimated that a war in the Middle East would be used by the US to crumble China’s economy by cutting off its oil supply, forcing Beijing to shift closer to Russia for energy security.

Who is Jiang Xueqin?

Jiang is not a professional psychic but a structural historian and educator. A Canadian citizen of Chinese origin, he has worked with the United Nations, advised top Chinese schools on critical thinking, and is a Fellow of Royal Society of Arts (RSA). His channel, Predictive History, applied Isaac Asimov’s fictional concept of "psychohistory", using mathematical patterns in mass human behavior, to narrate geopolitical trends.

For a world watching the Middle East spiral into uncertainty, Jiang’s lecture has become a haunting guide to what he calls the "inescapable trap" of modern empire.
