The 22-year-old Saketh Sreenivasaiah, an Indian student from Karnataka, enrolled at the University of California, went missing four days ago, and later his passport and laptop were found in a bag. As per the Berkeley Police Department, Sreenivasaiah was last seen nearly a kilometre away from his campus on February 10. He was a student of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.

The Consulate General of India in San Francisco confirmed the disappearance of Sreenivasaiah and said that it was in touch with the family members of Saketh and local authorities.

“Consulate General of India in San Francisco is deeply concerned about the disappearance of Saketh Sreenivasaiah, an Indian post-graduate student of UC Berkeley, hailing from the State of Karnataka. The Consulate is in touch with the family and also is in contact with the concerned local authorities to locate the student,” the Consulate said in a statement on X.

Who Is Saketh Sreenivasaiah

Sreenivasaiah is an alumnus of IIT Madras and is currently enrolled in a Master’s programme at the University of California. He is pursuing his Master of Science in Product Development Programme, according to his LinkedIn profile, after completing his Bachelor of Technology in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

“I’m a Masters student in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department at UC Berkeley, with an undergraduate degree from IIT Madras. I’m passionate about deep-tech innovations in soft and active materials, semiconductors, and advanced materials,” Sreenivasaiah wrote in his LinkedIn bio.

As per the police, Sreenivasaiah was last seen at was last seen in the 1700 block of Dwight Way and is considered to be at risk.
