Iran-US-Israel War: Amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, now stretching beyond three months, US President Donald Trump reportedly engaged in a tense phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which he criticised Israel’s escalating military actions in Lebanon. The developments come as regional peace efforts involving Iran remain fragile and uncertain.

According to a report by Axios, Trump allegedly described Netanyahu as "crazy" and accused him of being ungrateful during the conversation.

Citing US officials and another source familiar with the call, the report claims Trump also halted Israel’s proposed strike on Beirut. He reportedly warned Netanyahu that any move to bomb the Lebanese capital could further damage Israel’s global standing and deepen its diplomatic isolation.

"You're fucking crazy': Trump To Israeli PM

Trump also referenced his past political support for Netanyahu, suggesting he had played a role in helping him during his corruption trial.

"You're fucking crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this," Trump reportedly told Netanyahu, according to Axios.

The report further states that Trump, visibly angered during the call, asked, "What the fuck are you doing?"

Before the conversation, Trump was aware that Hezbollah, the Iran-backed group operating from Lebanon, had been carrying out attacks against Israel, and acknowledged Israel’s right to defend itself. However, he reportedly believed that Netanyahu’s recent military response had become disproportionately escalatory.

Following the call, which Trump later described as "productive", he announced that Israeli forces would not proceed with any operation in Beirut.

"I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to go into a major raid of Beirut, Lebanon. He turned his troops around. Thank you, Bibi!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He also claimed to have spoken with representatives linked to Hezbollah, stating that both sides had agreed to halt attacks.

"I also had a conversation with representatives of the leaders of Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop shooting at Israel and its soldiers. Likewise, Israel agreed to stop shooting at them. Let's see how long that lasts -- Hopefully it will be for ETERNITY!"

Netanyahu later confirmed that the conversation took place, but framed it differently, describing it as a warning rather than a restraint. He stated that Israel had informed Trump it would target locations in Beirut if Hezbollah continued its attacks. Netanyahu also added that the Israeli military would continue “to operate as planned” in southern Lebanon.

Iran Suspends Peace Talks Over Strikes On Lebanon

The development comes after Iran on Monday said that Tehran’s negotiating team is suspending exchanges of messages with the United States through mediators due to attacks on Lebanon, as diplomatic efforts continue to end the three-month-long conflict.

According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Iran and the “Resistance Front” which includes its Shiite allies in Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq have prepared an agenda to completely block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, in order to “punish” Israel and its supporters.
