In a Twitter thread, Zara Dar, a former PhD candidate and now an OnlyFans creator, addressed the growing speculation surrounding her life, career, and personal details. The 28-year-old, who initially pursued an academic career, was once deeply involved in the world of research and academia, working toward her PhD. 

In a post on X, Zara opened up about the reality of her decision to leave academia, explaining that while it was difficult at first, she had found much more freedom and fulfilment in her new career. She stressed that, contrary to some of the gossip online, she did not leave academia to "chase fame or money"—but rather, she left because she felt stifled by the limitations of the academic world.

X user Sensei Kraken Zero shared a post about Zara Dar leaving academia for OnlyFans and humorously highlighted a Pakistani user, Farid Khan, praising her career shift.

Khan’s remark, “A proud moment for all of South Asia. Pakistani women are excelling in the OnlyFans industry,” drew mixed responses and garnered over 400,000 views.

Zara Dar clarified in a recent statement that she is not Pakistani, as some people had mistakenly believed. She explained that she is an American, born and raised, with a mixed background that includes American, Persian, Southern European, Middle Eastern, and Indian heritage. She also addressed confusion around her identity, attributing it to a different influencer with a similar name.

In her tweet, Zara confirmed that she indeed uses her real name in her public life and that the rumours about her identity were simply part of the online speculation that often surrounds prominent figures.

Zara Dar Addresses Trolls On Career Shift

Zara Dar clarified that her full last name is Darcy, which she shortened to Darz/Dar. Zara Dar shared that she started doing OnlyFans while pursuing her PhD two years ago and now does it full-time. She plans to continue teaching STEM-related content on her YouTube channel, enjoying the freedom to learn and share new content through her full-time career.

Zara Dar revealed in a video on Monday that she decided to leave her doctorate program to focus on OnlyFans. She cited financial viability and the freedom from the constraints of an academic career as key reasons for her decision.
