Honda CBR 650R: Japanese two-wheeler giant Honda has unveiled the all-new Honda CBR 650R at the ongoing EICMA 2023 in Italy. The new CBR 650R now comes with a sharper look compared to its predecessor and takes inspiration from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade in terms of design. Though the new CBR 650R is over 2kg heavier than the previous version, it is equipped with advanced features, including Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The CBR650R, boasting Honda's e-clutch system, is expected to be launched in India by next year.

CBR650R - Design

In terms of design, the CBR 650R boasts a sharper appearance compared to its predecessor, drawing inspiration from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. However, the design language remains similar to the earlier version. Honda has launched the new CBR650R in two colour options including Grand Prix Red Tricolour and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.

CBR650R - Engine and Features

Powering the bike is the same inline-four-cylinder engine, delivering 94bhp and 62.3Nm. This time, Honda has included its e-clutch system in the bike which has been offered as an optional feature. Honda's E-Clutch combines the benefits of a quick shifter and its own dual-clutch transmission, allowing for both up and downshifts without needing to use the clutch lever.

The current CBR650R, which is available in India, develop 86 bhp and 57.5 Nm. The motorcycle utilises a 41 mm Showa Separate Fork Function-large piston front fork and a 10-step adjustable rear shock. The updated bike is equipped with an automatic clutch system for conventional clutch use. However, this enhancement has led to a 2 kg increase in the bike's weight. Additionally, the Honda CBR650R comes with features such as Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), dual-channel ABS, full-LED lighting, and a five-inch TFT screen with connectivity.

CBR650R - Accessory Pack

Honda offers two accessory packs for the CBR650R – Racing and Comfort. The Racing kit includes a quick-shifter, a colour-matched pillion seat, and an extended smoked screen. It also includes a carbon-look tank pad, an oil-level gauge, and tank grips. On the other hand, the 'Comfort' pack comprises heated grips, a three-litre tank bag, and a 15-litre pillion seat bag.
