German automaker Audi has revealed the facelift version of their popular coupe-SUV Q8 globally. The facelift variant only includes changes to the interior and exterior aesthetic elements as there will be no change in terms of engine and performance of the car. The Audi Q8 facelift will come in two variants -- standard and S. The standard variant will debut with a pair of petrol and diesel V6 engines while the S variant will only come with a V8 Petrol engine. It has been anticipated that Audi will also launch a Racing Sport (RS) variant of the new facelift Q8 at a later date.
Audi Q8 Facelift - Exterior Design
On the exterior, the Q8 showcases notable updates, starting with a fresh grille insert at the front and revamped side air intakes. The standard LED headlights, with Audi's optional Matrix LEDs, feature a redesigned lighting signature. Wheel choices range from 20 to 23 inches. Rear lighting has been subtly modified, and different colours are now used for the rear diffuser, underbody guard, and door surroundings, helping to distinguish between different Q8 trim levels.
The high-performance Audi SQ8 variant gets a redesigned lip spoiler, a new underride guard, and an updated rear diffuser. The front grille receives a new look and the front air intakes now feature honeycomb inserts. The grille, side view mirrors, and air intakes have an aluminium finish.
Audi Q8 Facelift - Interior
To ensure that the Audi Q8 maintains its distinctive edge over its competitors, it has received significant technological upgrades in its interior. Audi's MMI infotainment system now offers an increased number of apps, allowing passengers to access third-party apps like Spotify and Amazon Music. Additionally, driver assistance features such as lane change warning, crossroad assist, and traffic light information have been made more prominent within the Audi 'virtual cockpit.' Standard features include a rearview camera, park assist, high beam assist, and keyless entry.
Audi Q8 Facelift - Engine Configuration
The Q8 retains its turbocharged 3.0-litre V-6 engine, producing 335 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This power is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Similarly, the high-performance SQ8 remains equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V-8 engine, generating 500 bhp and 770 Nm of torque which will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It also boasts additional features such as a torque-vectoring rear differential and active anti-roll bars to enhance performance.
Audi Q8 Facelift - Prices and India Launch
The launch of the Q8 facelift in India has not yet been revealed and the prices for the same have also not been revealed but it is expected that the prices will be hiked reasonably over the previous version of the Audi Q8.
