The first week of November 2023 has been eventful for the Indian automobile industry as international automobile manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Skoda have launched multiple cars. Models like the Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV, Mercedes-AMG C 43, New-Gen Skoda Superb and Volkswagen Tiguan GT Trail Edition have been launched in just the first week of November. Here’s a brief description about the details of these newly launched vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV
Mercedes-Benz launched the GLE facelift in India with three variants - GLE 450 4 MATIC, GLE 300d 4 MATIC, and GLE 450d 4 MATIC. The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV price start at Rs 96.4 lakh for the entry-level 300d 4 MATIC, while the GLE 450 4 MATIC is priced at Rs 1.10 crore and the GLE 450d 4 MATIC at Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom). The GLE SUV offers both petrol and diesel engines with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
Mercedes-AMG C 43
Mercedes-Benz launched the AMG C 43 4 MATIC in India on Thursday. The AMG C 43 is claimed to be the most powerful Mercedes-Benz C-Class till date and has been priced at Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom). The AMG C 43 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and features Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. This engine produces a power output of 402 bhp and 500 Nm of torque.
New-Gen Skoda Superb
Czech automaker Skoda launched the next-gen Skoda Superb on November 2, 2023. The next-gen Skoda Superb is set to debut in select markets by 2024, including India. It will come equipped with multiple powertrain options including petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrain. Inside, the new Superb will feature a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10-inch digital cluster, a head-up display, and updated rotary push buttons for HVAC, volume, drive modes among other functions.
Volkswagen Tiguan GT Trail Edition
Volkswagen has introduced the Trail Edition of its flagship SUV, the Taigun GT in India. The Taigun GT Trail Edition has been priced at Rs 16.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition is part of the GT Collection which includes limited edition variants of the Virtus and Taigun GT trims. The Volkswagen Taigun is among the safest SUVs in India as per Global NCAP safety ratings. It will be powered by the same 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine that can produce a power output of 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
