Bajaj May Introduce New CNG Bikes By April; Here's What We Know So Far

Bajaj CNG Bikes: Bajaj Auto is known to be in the works of developing a lineup of CNG motorcycles. The two-wheeler manufacturer plans to launch these new motorcycles in the upcoming financial year which starts in April 2024. It is anticipated that Bajaj Auto will unveil prototypes of its upcoming CNG motorcycles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo which is taking place from February 1-3. Bajaj Auto is set to showcase a variety of flex-fuel and CNG vehicles at the expo.

As per Bajaj Auto, CNG is a viable alternative for Indians for daily commute. Bajaj has experienced success with CNG vehicles in the three-wheeler segment, the company now aims to replicate this achievement in the two-wheeler market. Bajaj Auto, Executive Director, Rakesh Sharma revealed that the upcoming CNG motorcycles from Bajaj Auto will debut under an entirely new brand and will be positioned at a higher price point compared to traditional petrol-fueled motorcycles. The reasoning behind the premium pricing is linked to the increased manufacturing costs, as the new CNG motorcycles will feature a specialised fuel tank to accommodate both petrol and CNG fuel options.

Speaking about these new CNG motorcycles, Sharma emphasised that instead of introducing a single vehicle, Bajaj Auto is concentrating on developing a diverse range of CNG-powered motorcycles spanning different segments. However, he did not disclose whether the upcoming Bajaj Auto CNG motorcycles would be entirely new models or just variations of existing ones.  Sharma also mentioned that the upcoming CNG motorcycles aim to cater to fuel-conscious consumers nationwide. He stated, "It will not be only one vehicle but it will be a range of vehicles across segments. We will fill up the portfolio, we may not present it in one go but the idea is to have a portfolio of CNG motorcycles." Furthermore, he added, "It will be a vehicle that the customer will be proud to own. It will be a different brand."
