Car Travel Tips: As many as 35,000 cars were sold in India in 2022, while close to 30,000 units were sold in 2021. Cars have become an integral part of our lives for not just daily commutes but also in terms of travelling long distances because of the comfort and ease they provide. People choose cars for road trips because they give us the freedom to do things at our own convenience and desire. 

However, one of the major problems faced in such road trips is that we have limited space to carry our luggage because we don’t want to be crammed up in the car. But, there are cars in the Indian market that offer large boot space and you can fit your trolleys and other things inside them. Here’s a list of cars under Rs 10 lakhs that offer great boot space for our wanderers and travel enthusiasts.

Kia Sonet

First in the list is the popular compact SUV, Kia Sonet that offers a boot space of 392 litres. Kia Sonet is available with three engine options - a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (120 bhp/172 Nm), a 1.2-litre petrol engine (83 bhp/115 Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel unit (115 bhp/250 Nm). Prices for the Kia Sonet start at Rs 7.79 lakh  and go up to Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Aura

Hyundai Aura gets a boot space of 402 litres with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is tuned to produce 83 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. Hyundai Aura prices start at Rs 6.33 lakh and go up to Rs 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Renault Kiger

Kiger is one of Renault’s popular compact SUVs that provides a boot space of 405 litres. Two engine options are available with the Renault Kiger - a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (72 bhp /96 Nm) and a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (100 bhp/160 Nm). Prices for the Renault Kiger range from Rs Rs 6.50 lakh to Rs 11.23 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Tigor

Tata’s sedan offering Tigor offers a boot space of 419 litres with  a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a power output of 86 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Tata Tigor prices start at Rs 6.30 lakh and the top-spec variant is priced at Rs 8.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda Amaze

Honda Amaze is also a sedan that offers an impressive boot space of 420 litres. Honda’s sedan is equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates 90 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque. Honda Amaze is priced between Rs 7.05 lakh to Rs 9.66 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is available with a huge boot space of 502 litres and is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers a total of 105 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz’s base model comes at a price tag of Rs  9.30 lakh and the top model is priced at Rs 12.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen recently launched the C3 Aircross SUV for the Indian market. The C3 Aircross is available with the most extensive boot space of 511 litres and derives its power from a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 110 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. Prices for the Citroen C3 Aircross start at Rs 9.99 lakh and go up to Rs 12.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
