Motorcycles aren't just a way to get around, they're also a way to express your style. That's why many people like to modify their two-wheelers.The trend of getting modifications done to your vehicle has always been there as they look ‘cool’. Nowadays, mainly youngsters get their vehicles modified, especially bikes. These changes can make your bike look cool, but you should know that they can also get you into trouble. People often change things like the exhaust pipe, headlights, and tail lights on their bikes and switch to wider tires to enhance its look. While looking nice, these modifications are harmful for the motorcycle and you will also be liable to pay a fine if you’re caught by the police with a modified bike without any permission.

Disadvantages of Motorcycle Modifications
- Adding extra bodywork and accessories can make the bike heavier, which can then lower its performance.
- Bike companies carefully match engine power to the tire size. Smaller bikes with 100-125 cc engines have thinner tires to maximize fuel efficiency and mileage. If you add wider tires, it can mess with the engine's performance, reducing efficiency and handling.
- If you modify your bike's structure without proper approval, it could be considered illegal.

In India, there are specific laws regarding bike modifications which allow you to make modifications but only to a certain extent. So, naturally you can only make limited changes because certain modifications are considered illegal under the law. If you’re found violating these rules and regulations, it might result in you having to pay a ‘challan’.
