BMW, a popular luxury automaker, has officially announced that it will be launching its highly anticipated iX1 in the Indian market on September 28. The upcoming SUV will be the fourth electric car in the company’s lineup. The new SUV is said to feature a lot of new improvements, enhanced design and better performance.

For those who are unaware, the BMW iX1 will be based on the BMW X1 and will have a similar appearance with the exception of blue accents on the front, sides, and grille to indicate that it is an EV.

BMW iX1 Powertrain, Range:

The BMW iX1 xDrive30 will reportedly get a 66.5kWh Lithium-ion battery which paired with two motors is capable of churning out a maximum power of 313 hp and a peak torque of 494 Nm. The company claims that the SUV will be able to reach 100 kmph from stationery in just 5.6 seconds. According to the reports, the SUV will offer a 440 KM range and a top speed of 180 kmph. It is also capable of DC fast charging with up to 130 kW.

BMW iX1 Interior:

The SUV will offer a variety of features in the cabin which includes a 10.7-inch touchscreen along with the BMW’s curved digital information display. The report also suggests that the SUV may come up with the Panoramic sunroof and massager seats.

BMW iX1 Price:

According to reports, BMW will make its Indian debut as a CBU, which may raise the price in the Indian market. It should be noted that the ICE version is domestically produced in India, and the business may copy the production plan for the electric SUV as well in order to keep prices low.

Speaking of the price, the iX1 could stand in between Rs 60 lakh to Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom) which means it will be competing with the Volvo XC40 Recharge on the Indian roads.
