BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition India Launch: BMW India has finally unveiled the 2 Series M Performance Edition on Thursday. The newly launched BMW sedan will be produced locally in India at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai. As the name suggests, the 2 Series M Performance Edition will be available in limited numbers on the official website of BMW India and will come with a price tag of Rs 46 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition - Design

The 2 Series M Performance Edition showcases distinctive design elements, featuring an M-specific front grille, Cerium Grey accents on the fog lamp inserts and ORVMs, sleek angled LED headlamps, and extended LED taillamps. It also displays an 'M-Performance' badge on the fenders.

BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition - Cabin

Inside the cabin, advanced tech features are included like dual 10.25-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment, an M-Performance Alcantara gear selector lever, electronic sports seats with memory, reversing assistant, parking assist with a rearview camera and customizable ambient lighting. Other amenities include two-zone automatic climate control, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and wireless charging.

BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition - Engine

Powering the BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition is a robust 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine generating 173 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, enabling a swift 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 7.1 seconds. The sedan also offers paddle shifters, launch control, cruise control with braking function, and three driving modes: Eco Pro, Comfort, and Sport.

BMW 2 Series M Performance Edition - Safety Features

In terms of safety, BMW equips this model with a suite of technologies, including six airbags, attentiveness assistance, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with brake assist, dynamic stability control (DSC) with dynamic traction control (DTC) and cornering brake control (CBC). Other safety features include an electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, an electronic vehicle immobiliser, crash sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and an integrated emergency spare wheel beneath the load floor.
