Skoda recently revealed the updated interiors of its two siblings, the Skoda Kodiaq and the Skoda Superb which will be introduced globally sometime later this year. Skoda Superb was discontinued in India earlier this year because of the implementation of strict BS6 Phase II emissions standards, which became effective on April 1, 2023.

Skoda is now planning to reintroduce the new-gen Superb back into the Indian market in limited numbers. It will be available only in the top-spec L&K trim only. As opposed to the past, the Superb would be entirely imported rather than domestically assembled in India. The third-generation Superb, which has been sold in India since 2016, was built here. It mostly competed against the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Volkswagen Passat and Hyundai Sonata. Superb was one of the most popular choices in its segment and outperformed its peers.

In accordance with the GSR 870 regulation, which permits manufacturers to import a total of 2,500 units of any right-hand-drive car falling within the M and L category without any homologation requirements, Skoda will export the new Superb to India. Without having to undergo homologation, Skoda India will be able to reintroduce the Superb with the upgraded 2.0-litre TSI engine, which produces 190 bhp and is coupled to a single 7-speed DSG transmission.

Skoda Superb Fourth-Generation:  What’s New?

A first for a Skoda in India, the Superb will come with ADAS features like lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with top speeds of 210 km/h. A 360-degree camera park assist will also be included. Skoda's adaptive chassis control technology, an active tyre pressure monitoring system, and nine airbags will also come as standard.

New Rosso Brunello, New Water World Green and Magic Black will be the three colour scheme options available for the fourth-gen Superb.

Alloy wheels will be of the standard 17-inch size, made by Stratos. Additionally, it will receive a Columbus Infotainment system, which wasn’t included in the Indian-made Superb.

Skoda Superb Price: (Expected)

The price of the upcoming Skoda Superb could significantly increase because it will be a CBU. To put things in perspective, the top-spec L&K trim of the India-made Skoda Superb was approximately priced around Rs 37 lakh (ex-showroom). Therefore, it is fair to assume that the new CBU Superb car would cost about Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
