French automaker Citroen has announced that it will be enhancing the safety features across its vehicle lineup in India. To achieve this, Citroen plans to standardise six airbags across all its car models. This standardisation of six airbags across all Citroen cars is set to be implemented starting the second half of the current calendar year.

Additionally, Citroen has officially stated that it will also include standard safety features such as ISOFIX seat anchorage and a rear seatbelt reminder across all its car models and variants. This strategic decision aims to enhance the appeal of Citroen vehicles to potential buyers, aligning with the growing awareness of safety features in the Indian market for passenger vehicles.

Apart from Citroen, other manufacturers like Hyundai and Kia have also implemented six airbags to be standard across all their cars. These six airbags include dual front, dual side and dual curtain airbags. Airbags are necessary as they play an important role in preventing severe injuries or fatalities during accidents. The significance of implementing such safety measures in Indian cars is particularly noteworthy given the country's road safety record.
