E20 Fuel Compatible Cars:  Amidst social media backlash surrounding the rollout of ethanol-blended petrol, Mahindra has given an assurance to its customers and dealers, stating that its entire product line-up is 'fully compliant with existing gasoline standards', and is safe to drive with E20 fuel. E20 fuel, or Ethanol 20, is petrol blended with 20 per cent ethanol and replaces E10 fuel.

Mahindra: Our Vehicles Are Safe With E20

While vehicles manufactured in India between 2012 and 2023 are E10-ready, the models produced after April 1, 2023, specifically since the implementation of BSVI Phase 2 norms, are engineered to run on E20 fuel to deliver enhanced fuel efficiency. In line with this guideline, Mahindra has issued an advisory saying that all its vehicles are specially calibrated for E20 fuel to ensure acceleration and fuel efficiency.

Even vehicles manufactured before April 1, 2023, are safe to use with E20 fuel, although they could see a minor variance in either performance or fuel efficiency depending on driving behaviour and traffic situations, according to Mahindra.
