NHAI FASTag Annual Pass: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, recently introduced a FASTag-based annual pass to ease commute on highways and expressways. The FASTag annual pass will be launched on August 15, 2025, and it will provide hassle-free travel for just Rs 3000. However, there’s a new catch as the applicability of the Annual Pass is restricted to only NHAI highways and expressways.
FASTag Annual Pass: Validity Explained
The FASTag Annual Pass will not work on the toll booths operated by state governments, and it will only work on the highways and expressways operated by the NHAI. While the FASTag Annual Pass will be valid on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, it will not work on the Meerut Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, and Purvanchal Expressway.

FASTag Annual Pass: How To Avail?
As per the notification by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, the FASTag Annual Pass can be availed using the Rajmarg Yatra App, through the official website of NHAI, and through the Ministry of Transport website. Nitin Gadkari shared in his X post that a dedicated link for activation of the annual pass will be shared soon.
FASTag Annual Pass: Important Points
The FASTag Annual Pass will get linked to the existing RFID FASTag of any vehicle, and it will be automatically activated once the vehicle passes through a toll plaza within a radius of 60 kilometers. The annual pass is non-transferable, and any vehicle with a valid FASTag can apply for it. If the FASTag is registered on the chassis number of the vehicle, it will not be eligible for the annual pass.
