Force Gurkha - Design

The design of the Gurkha remains boxy, with circular LED headlamps, a two-slat grille, and a sturdy appearance. The 5-door version is longer and taller than the 3-door model, accommodating additional rear doors and a longer wheelbase. The 5-door model offers a seven-seat layout with captain seats in the third row, while the 3-door version offers seating capacity for four passengers.

Force Gurkha - Features

In terms of features, the Gurkha is equipped with a 9-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, powered ORVMs, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, a rear camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Safety features include dual front airbags, three-point seat belts for all passengers, traction control, and hill-hold assist. However, it does lack some features compared to similar SUVs like the Thar.

Force Gurkha - Engine and Performance

Talking about its performance, both Gurkha models are expected to be equipped with a 2.6-litre diesel engine sourced from Mercedes. This engine has been improved to produce a power output of 140 bhp, a significant increase from the previous Gurkha's power output of 91 bhp. It is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and there is no automatic transmission option available currently. Four-wheel drive is standard and can be controlled via a switch on the centre console. It also includes an auto start-stop system for better fuel efficiency. Force Motors had paused production of the Gurkha for over a year to update it to meet stricter emission norms. The new engine now complies with these norms, thanks to the use of AdBlue.
