New Delhi | Jagran Auto Desk: Auto manifacturer Ford India on Monday launched its compact SUV Ecosport with BSVI compliant petrol and diesel engines. The new Ecosport 1.5 litre petrol engine delivers 100 OS power and comes mated with a five-speed manual transmission. It also includes the company's latest three-cylinder 1.5-ltr petrol engine that deliver 122 PS of power. The petrol engine will continue to be paired with both five-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic transmission.
"Ford is committed to offer products and technologies our customers want and value -- including our best-in-class diesel engines – at almost the same price," Ford India Executive Director Marketing, Sales & Service Vinay Raina said in a statement.
With continuation of its entire range, EcoSport will be the vehicle of choice for all compact SUV customers and meet their diverse needs, he added.

The main rivals of Ford Ecosport are soon to be launched Tata nexon facelift, Mahindra XUV 300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue. It also likely to compete with Kia and Renault.
The new Ecosport is loaded with key features like HID headlamps, LED DRLs, rain sensing wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels, dual tone roof, dual front airbags, seatbelt reminder, auto door lock, rear parking sensors and high speed alert system.
Ecosport is priced between Rs 8.04-11.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The petrol version of the upgraded model costs between Rs 8.04-11.43 lakh while the diesel variants can be purchase at around Rs 8.54- 11.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Its previous BSIV petrol variants were priced between rs 7.91-11.3 lakh while the diesel engines were available at starting price of Rs 8.41 up to Rs 11.45 lakh.
The prices have surged around Rs 13,000 for the BSVI compliant engines while select variants on 1.5-litre diesel titanium are unchanged.
The new Ecosport model also comes up with a standard 3 years or 1 lakh kilometer warranty.
