GST 2.0:  The Indian government announced a reduction in GST rates from September 22, 2025, onwards. The decision to reduce GST comes after a long-standing demand from the automotive industry. The automotive industry has welcomed the government's move, and many car and bike manufacturers have begun to reduce the prices of their products. In the same series, the world’s largest scooter and bike manufacturer, Hero Motocorp, has announced passing on the full benefit of the GST 2.0 reforms directly to the consumers.

Hero Motocorp And GST Benefit

Hero Motocorp has announced that consumers can avail the price benefit of up to Rs 15,743 (ex-showroom) on select models offered by the brand. The price benefits will come into effect from September 22, 2025, onwards. The model-wise GST benefits breakup is as follows:

GST Reforms And Two-Wheelers

Earlier, the bikes under the 350cc segment were taxed at 28 percent, and the industry was demanding a reduction of 10 percent in the GST rates. Addressing the long-standing demand of the automotive industry, the government decided on September 4, 2025, to reduce the GST rates, and now the bikes under the 350cc segment will be taxed at 18 per cent. The new GST rates will come into effect from September 22 onwards.
