New GST Slabs: The government of India introduced new GST slabs on September 3, 2025, and cars, along with bikes, are set to become more affordable in the country from September 22, 2025 onwards. Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car manufacturer, will also be one of the most benefited by the policy shift. Let’s take a look at how much you can save on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Swift, Alto K10, and Baleno post GST reforms.
Small Cars And Calculation
Before we begin with the savings on the Maruti Suzuki cars post GST reforms, it is significant to understand which cars will receive the highest benefits, and how the benefits will be calculated. ‘Small Cars’ are believed to benefit most from the government’s decision on GST reforms. Any car that is not longer than 4000mm (4 metres in length), and features a petrol engine less than 1200cc or a diesel engine less than 1500cc, is considered a small car. It is also important to note that GST and Cess charges were calculated, and rates as per the new GST slabs will be calculated on the car’s Ex-factory price, and not the car’s ex-showroom price.
