Hero Xtreme 125R vs Hero Super Splendor Xtec: Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Xtreme 125R for the Indian market. The Hero Xtreme 125R competes with other models in the 125cc segment such as TVS Raider 125, Honda SP 125 and its Hero sibling, the Super Splendor Xtec. Both the Hero motorcycles are powered by a similar engine, however, there is a price gap of approximately Rs 10,000 as the Xtreme 125R is slightly higher priced compared to the Super Splendor Xtec. The critical question in this case is whether the price gap between the two models is justified or not. Therefore, let’s take a look at the comparison of the Hero Xtreme 125R and the Hero Super Splendor Xtec in terms of engine specs, hardware and features.

Hero Xtreme 125R
Price - Hero Xtreme 125R has been launched with its prices ranging from Rs 95,000 and Rs 99,500 (ex-showroom).
Engine Specs - The Xtreme 125R is powered by a 125cc EBT engine that generates a power output of 11.5 bhp and 10.5 Nm of torque.
Hardware - Talking about the hardware, it gets 37mm front telescopic forks and 7-step Showa-developed preload adjustable monoshock at the rear for suspension duties. For braking, the Xtreme 125R gets a 276 mm front disc with single-channel ABS.
Features - In terms of features, the Xtreme 125R gets a fully digital instrument console used to showcase information such speed, tachometer fuel levels, odometer and tripmeters. It also provides Bluetooth connectivity with call/SMS notifications. It is equipped with i3S technology (idling stop system) to save fuel during extended traffic stops.

Hero Super Splendor Xtec
Price - The Hero Super Splendor Xtec is available with its prices starting from Rs 85,178 that go up to Rs 89,078 (ex-showroom). This denotes a price difference of Rs 10,000 between the top models of both the Xtreme and Super Splendor.
Engine Specs - The Super Splendor Xtec is powered by a 124.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is capable of producing a power output of 10.87 bhp and 10.6 Nm of torque.
Hardware - Talking about the hardware, it gets a telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks with 180 mm of ground clearance. For braking responsibilities, it features a 240mm front disc brake along with a 130mm drum brake at the rear and a combined braking system.
Features - The Hero Super Splendor Xtec is equipped with features such as a fully digital instrument console that showcases information about low-fuel indicator, service reminder, malfunction indicator as well as Bluetooth connectivity with call/SMS notifications.
In conclusion, both the motorcycles boast similar features and specs when compared in detail. However, the Hero Xtreme 125R is priced slightly higher than the Hero Super Splendor Xtec is due to the enhancement in its styling, as it flaunts a sportier appearance.
