Hero Mavrick 440 vs Triumph Speed 400: Hero MotoCorp has recently unveiled the Mavrick 440 for the Indian market. Bookings for the Hero Mavrick will commence from February 2024 while its price will be announced in April, 2024. Deliveries of the Hero Mavrick are also expected to begin around that time. The Hero Mavrick 440 is based on the Harley-Davidson x440, which was jointly developed by Harley and Hero. Post its official launch, the Hero Mavrick 440 will compete with other motorcycles in the 400 cc segment. Other 400 cc motorcycles rivalling the Mavrick 440 are Triumph Speed, Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda H’ness CB350. Let’s take a look at a quick comparison of the Hero Mavrick 440 with the Triumph Speed 400.

Hero Mavrick 440
Price - Price for the Mavrick 440 has not been revealed yet, however, it is anticipated that it will be reasonably priced around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Engine Specs - Talking about the engine, the Hero Mavrick 440 is powered by a 440cc long-stroke oil-cooled engine that produces a power output of 27 bhp and 36 Nm of peak torque.
Hardware - In terms of hardware, the Mavrick 440 is equipped with 43mm front telescopic forks and a 130mm travel at the front. It also features dual shockers at the rear, disc brakes on both ends and alloy wheels.
Features - The Mavrick 440 gets features such as a digital instrument cluster, LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration, call and text notifications and a turn-by-turn navigation system.

Triumph Speed 400
Price - Triumph Speed 400 is available in India at a price of Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
Engine Specs - In terms of engine, the Speed 400 derives its power from a 398.15cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 40 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch for transmission duties.
Features - The Triumph Speed 400 is equipped with features such as semi-digital instrument cluster with no smartphone connectivity or navigation, gear position indicator, distance-to-empty readout, convenient switchable traction control, USB-C port for charging and heated grips.
Hardware - For suspension duties, the Speed 400 gets a 43mm inverted Big Piston Fork with 140mm of travel for the front and a gas-charged preload adjustable monoshock for the rear, that allows 130mm of travel. For braking, it gets a 300mm disc at the front with a radial calliper and a 230mm disc at the rear. The Triumph Speed sits on 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels.
