TVS Confirms To Launch New E-Scooter In Next 3 Months, Is It The TVS iQube ST?

TVS Motors, a leading two-wheeler manufacturer in India has confirmed that it witnessed a surge in electric two-wheeler sales, with 48,000 units sold in the last quarter compared to 29,000 units in the quarter before that. Therefore, TVS Motors CEO, K N Radhakrishnan has announced plans for the upcoming quarter, stating that the company is preparing to introduce a new electric two-wheeler. In response to queries about the specific brand of the upcoming electric two-wheeler, Radhakrishnan refrained from providing detailed information, stating that the new electric vehicle will be designed to "satisfy customer needs."

Although no specific details were disclosed about the upcoming TVS electric two-wheeler, it is possible that the company is gearing up to launch the much-anticipated iQube ST variant. The introduction of the iQube ST has faced delays, attributed to shifts in the EV market in India and reduced FAME subsidy. An indication of the upcoming launch was given at the TVS MotoSoul festival in the previous year and these new plans now seem to align with that timeline, suggesting a potential launch in 2024.

TVS iQube ST - Price, Range & Battery Pack, 

The TVS iQube ST is anticipated to be equipped with a 4.56 kWh battery pack that will enable the e-scooter to provide a claimed range of 145 km. Charging time for this battery pack from 0 to 80 per cent will take around 4 hours and 6 minutes using the 950W charger. Notably, the ST variant is the only one in the iQube lineup supporting fast charging at 1.5 kW. While the hub-mounted motor remains consistent with the base iQube and iQube S, the claimed top speed is expected to be slightly increased from 78 kmph to 82 kmph. Talking about the price of the TVS iQube ST, it is expected to be launched with its prices starting from Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
