Hero Xtreme 160R Combat Edition: In the build-up to its official launch in India soon, the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Combat Edition has begun reaching showrooms. Over a month ago, the Combat Edition model was spotted at a dealer showcase, featuring significant upgrades. The prices for Hero's rival to other 160cc bikes, such as the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar N160, are expected to be announced by the end of this month. In the meantime, let's take a closer look at the bike's upcoming updates:

Hero Xtreme 160R Combat Edition: What's New?

On the aesthetics front, the Xtreme 160R Combat Edition is adorned with a matte grey colour scheme with yellow contrasting highlights. The bike also gets a redesigned front fascia characterised by a new projector headlamp, an H-shaped DRL, and higher-set turn indicators. 

In terms of instrumentation, the Combat Edition gets a new colour LCD console. This unit is similar to the one found on the Glamour X. Alongside, the brand has also equipped the bike with updated switchgear. Similar to the recently showcased Xtreme 250R, the Combat Edition features ride-by-wire, enabling the brand to offer cruise control. Besides, the rider can toggle ride modes through a 'Mode' button situated on the left-side switchgear. Dual-channel ABS is present too.

Hero Xtreme 160R Combat Edition: Same Engine, Hardware

The Combat Edition retains a gold USD front fork and a rear monoshock. Powering the bike is the same 163cc, single-cylinder engine, which is rated for 16.6bhp and 14.6Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Hero Xtreme 160R Combat Edition: Expected Price

Hero presently sells its Hero Xtreme 160R 4V at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.30 lakh. Expect the Combat Edition to command a premium in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000.
