Japanese automaker Honda has announced that its Amaze, City (excluding the City Hybrid), and Elevate models will now be available with CNG options in India. This marks Honda's first foray into the CNG segment, as the company has never officially offered CNG before. Unlike some competitors who provide factory-fitted CNG kits, Honda's CNG kits will be available as aftermarket add-ons through its dealerships. The addition of CNG options is expected to attract more customers to Honda showrooms, especially those looking for more fuel-efficient alternatives.

These CNG kits can be installed on both manual and CVT transmissions for all three models. For those interested, the cost of the CNG kit and installation will range between Rs 75,000 and Rs 85,000. Additionally, Honda dealerships are providing a one-year warranty with the installation for added peace of mind. The CNG kits will be supplied by Lovato, and come with a 60-litre capacity tank. This tank will be installed in the trunk, which will slightly reduce the available cargo space.

Beyond the introduction of CNG kits, Honda Cars India is also focusing on expanding its product lineup. Last year, the company committed to launching at least one new model annually, including both new vehicles and facelifts, with a focus on the premium market. This strategy has already seen the release of the refreshed Honda City and the Honda Elevate SUV in the Indian market. Looking ahead, Honda plans to continue this momentum with the launch of the all-new, third-generation Honda Amaze, expected to debut during the upcoming festive season.
