Honda Cars India has recently introduced several new safety features across its entire lineup in the country, including models like the City, City e:HEV (Hybrid), Elevate, and Amaze. Under this update, the City and Elevate variants will now be equipped with standard six airbags, 3-point emergency locking retractor (ELR) seat belts and seat belt reminders for all five seats, applicable to all variants and trims of the vehicles.

Additionally, the Elevate variant now offers additional features as standard, such as adjustable head restraints for all passengers, driver and co-driver vanity mirrors, and a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT display. Meanwhile, the City model has received enhancements like a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster on the base SV variant, while the VX trim now boasts an 8-speaker premium sound system and a rear sunshade.

Honda Cars - New Prices

However, the inclusion of these new features has led to a price increase for both Honda models. The Elevate, previously priced between Rs 11.69 lakh and Rs 16.31 lakh, now ranges from Rs 11.91 lakh to Rs 16.43 lakh. Similarly, the City's base price has increased from Rs 11.82 lakh to Rs 12.08 lakh, with the top-end variant now costing Rs 16.35 lakh, a Rs 5,000 increase. All prices mentioned above are ex-showroom. 

Furthermore, the Honda Amaze and City e:HEV have been equipped with seat belt reminders for all five seats as standard. Additionally, the entry-level E variant of the Amaze has been discontinued, with prices now starting from Rs 7.93 lakh to Rs 9.86 lakh. The City e:HEV is now offered in a single top-spec ZX variant, priced at Rs 20.55 lakh. All prices mentioned above are ex-showroom.

Powertrain Updates

Despite these updates, no changes in the powertrain have been made to any of the four models. The Honda City and Elevate continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is capable of generating a power output of 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, while the City Hybrid utilizes a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine that is capable of producing a combined power output of 126 bhp. Similarly, the Amaze retains its 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of delivering a power output of 90 bhp and 110 Nm of torque.
