Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has been focussing on introducing bigger bikes in the country. They're focusing on their 350cc, single-cylinder engine platform, and have unveiled some design patents that hint at new motorcycles. After revealing patent drawings for an adventure bike to compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Honda has now shown design patents for another intriguing model.
New Honda Motorcycle - Design
This new bike seems to be based on the H'ness CB350 platform but takes cues from the adventure bike, possibly suggesting a Scrambler variant or an updated version of the Honda CB350RS. Unlike previous models, these design patents indicate significant changes, hinting that this could be an entirely new product rather than just a variant of the CB350.
The design features a new fuel tank inspired by the adventure bike, complete with a metal bracket at the bottom. The rider's seat overlaps the tank, resembling the ADV's design, while the side and tail sections look similar to the CB350RS.
New Honda Motorcycle - Engine Specs
Under the hood, it is expected to have the same powerful engine used in the CB350 and CB350RS. This air-cooled, 348.36 cc, single-cylinder engine delivers a power output of 20.7 bhp and 30 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox for excellent performance.
New Honda Motorcycle - Hardware
In terms of hardware, the bike is likely to use the half-duplex cradle frame from the current CB350 range, with a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The patent drawings also suggest a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, similar to the CB350RS.
