The Japan Mobility Show that is being held in Tokyo currently is showcasing a range of new upcoming cars and future concepts. The Japanese manufacturer Honda is also showcasing a host of new cars and concepts, one of which is the new Prelude concept. The Prelude concept, which was revealed today, is a two-door sports coupe resembling the original design of the Prelude that was launched in 1978 and was then discontinued in 2001.

Honda Prelude Concept - Powertrain 

As per Honda, the Prelude will be equipped with a strong-hybrid powertrain however the manufacturer has not revealed any specific powertrain details of the Prelude concept yet. 

Honda Prelude Concept - Design 

The design of the Honda Prelude concept looks quite sporty and futuristic and looks almost production ready with a functional headlight setup, Brembo brakes, 20-inch wheels, flush door handles and proper wing mirror units. The front fascia of the concept car derives styling cues from the current generation Honda Civic. 

Honda Prelude Concept - Interior

Talking about the cabin of the Honda Prelude concept, the windows of the car were completely tinted and blacked out, thereby not revealing any details about the interiors of the car.

While revealing the Honda Prelude concept, Toshihiro Mibe, Honda CEO spoke to the media saying, “The word 'prelude' means an 'introductory or preceding performance. This model will become the prelude for our future models, which will inherit the 'joy of driving' into the full-fledged electrified future and embody Honda's unalterable sports mindset.” Additionally, Honda also mentioned that this is a developmental concept that will be updated before it goes into actual production.
