Tips To Increase Car Mileage: From driving style to small habits, several factors impact the fuel efficiency of your car. Often, when a car’s mileage reduces substantially, only then do people start searching for tips to enhance the fuel efficiency of the car. Here we are sharing a few mistakes that reduce the mileage of a car, along with 5 important tips which might help enhance the mileage of your vehicle.
Wait After Starting The Car
Often, people start driving the car as soon as they start it. If you are also doing this, you should stop it immediately. When a car is started for the first time in a day, the temperature of the engine is not adequate. Driving the car in such a condition increases the load on the engine, resulting in reduced mileage. That’s why the engine sounds deep when started. If you wait for a few minutes and pay attention, you will find that the sound of the engine gets more refined. Therefore, do not start driving right after starting it; wait, and let the engine’s temperature get to an idle level.

Get Your Car Serviced Timely
The car’s engine can be called its heart. While a person needs to exercise to keep their heart healthy, the car needs timely services to keep the engine clutter-free. And as we already know, the better the condition of the engine, the better the fuel efficiency. Therefore, if your car’s service is due, you should get it done. Especially if you don’t want your car’s fuel expenses to increase. It is also important that the car be serviced at a trusted service centre.
Clean The Air Filter
This is one of the easiest things that you can do to enhance the fuel economy of your car. The more clogged the air filter is, the more load the engine goes through. A clogged air filter obstructs the air flow to the engine, and the engine then has to push more to burn fuel. This whole process results in increased fuel consumption and a low fuel economy. Therefore, clean your air filter regularly, and if it is worn out, get it replaced.

Do Not Accelerate Unnecessarily
Driving style has a lot to do with the fuel consumption of a car. If you drive rashly, it will result in decreased fuel economy, whereas driving at a normal speed increases your fuel efficiency. Also, pushing the accelerator pedal hardly for long durations increases the fuel consumption of the car. Therefore, one should push the accelerator pedal adequately and for shorter durations for enhanced mileage.
